The map has been published in History Revealed Magazine January 2015 Issue  .

 Of 20,000 Japanese soldiers, few survived the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, while the capture of the island cost the US Marines 25,000 casualties – a quarter of their entire losses in World War II
