A city street map with pen-and-ink illustrations of Valladolid's main historic buildings, plus icons and tourist information. It was made for the publisher MIC.
This is a street map of Valladolid that combines urban cartography with drawing. The city's main historic buildings appear as pen-and-ink illustrations, placed at their locations on the plan.
Zooming in on the viewer, you can read the names of the streets and of the many squares, such as Plaza Mayor, Plaza de España and Plaza de Zorrilla. You can also make out the course of the Pisuerga River, which runs through the city, and green spaces such as Campo Grande Park.
Icons with tourist information are added across the plan. A pictogram key, labelled in both Spanish and English, explains them: health services, churches, car parks, taxis, pharmacies, bus stops, town hall, police, sports centres, post office and tourist information. The map also carries a graphic scale.
The work was produced by EOSGIS for the publisher MIC.
