Public Use Map of the Alto Tajo Natural Park

A map designed for exploring the park and its peripheral protection zone, showing viewpoints, recreation areas, visitor centres, footpaths and cycling routes.

This public use map of the Alto Tajo Natural Park and its peripheral protection zone shows, over a shaded relief base, the facilities and routes available to visitors. The park spans the provinces of Guadalajara, Cuenca and Teruel, and the boundary of the protected area is marked in green.

Zooming in reveals the course of the Tagus (Tajo) and its tributaries, the villages with their roads, and the tracks and trails. Over this background the map numbers 10 viewpoints, 21 recreation areas, five campsites for organised groups, four visitor centres (Zaorejas, Checa, Orea and Corduente) and several heritage sites, such as the Roman aqueduct at Zaorejas and the Saelices salt works.

Footpaths are divided into long-distance routes (GR-10, GR-113 and GR-66, the latter under construction) and short-distance or local trails, each with its length in kilometres. Four mountain bike routes (BTT) are also shown, ranging from 21 to 70 km. The side panels list the basic rules of conduct and safety advice. The map can be downloaded from the "Visita y disfruta" section of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government's natural environment website.
